HC Deb 02 April 1946 vol 421 cc170-1W
131. Mr. Gooch

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will issue a general direction to enable farm workers, who took up employment with W.A.E.C.s away from their home districts during the war, to return to their homes.

Mr. Isaacs:

Instructions have already been issued that applications from workers wishing to leave scheduled employment, including employment with a war agricultural executive committee, who have been working away from home for a substantial period are to be given sympathetic consideration. For the time being I cannot go further than this.
