HC Deb 02 April 1946 vol 421 c170W
148. Lieut.-Colonel Thorp

asked the Minister of Labour what opportunities will be offered to men called up for compulsory service to volunteer for service with the Army.

Mr. Isaacs:

Every man on registration is invited to express a preference for one or other of the three Services and a man who expressed a preference for the Army would not now be called up for another Service unless he possessed special trade skill that could not be employed in the Army.
