Mr. Spence

asked the Secretary of State for War what the cost has been of building the Army huts and services in the Gladstone Road, Huntly; what was the date of commencement and completion of the work; and by what numbers they are now occupied.

Mr. Lawson:

There are two camps in Gladstone Road, Huntly-Market Muir Camp and Meadow Bank Camp. The cost of building huts at Market Muir Camp was £6,804, other services £1,021, total £7,825. Cost of huts at Meadow Bank Camp was £10,175, other services £1,525, total 11,700. The work was started in November, 1940, and completed in April, 1941, in both cases. Forty-eight personnel are now accommodated in Market Muir Camp. Meadow Bank is occupied by N.A.A.F.I. Stores but not by personnel.
