HC Deb 02 April 1946 vol 421 c162W
102. Mr. Skeffinģton

asked the Minister of Works whether he is aware that trenches for drains are now being dug across the site of the Budbury Circle; and whether he has satisfied himself that this will not constitute a violation of the undertaking given by his Department that work would not proceed on this prehistoric site without the supervision of an archæologist.

Mr. Tomlinson:

Representatives of the Department have recently been to the housing site at Budbury, and I am advised that the operations so far carried out have not involved excavation so deep as to affect any archæological remains.
