asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what information has so far been called for by the Bank of England, since its nationalisation from the joint stock banks.

Mr. Dalton:

The powers conferred on the Bank of England by Section 4 (3) of the Bank of England Act have not been used. There is full cooperation, as hitherto, between the Bank of England and the Joint Stock Banks
