§ Mr. Ernest Daviesasked the Assistant Postmaster-General what was the net contribution made by revenue from wireless receiving licences to the Exchequer as surplus, after deducting the share of the revenue assigned for collection and 140W similar services, from 1st January, 1937, to 31st March, 1939, and from 1st April, 1939, to the date when a grant in aid was substituted for the previous financial arrangement, respectively.
§ Mr. Burke:The amounts were as follow: 1st January, 1937–31st March, 1939, £1,242,500; 1st April, 1939–31st March, 1940, £289,000.
