HL Deb 30 October 1945 vol 137 cc573-4WA
THE EARL OF MACCLESFIELD

asked His Majesty's Government, when they propose to abate the public nuisance caused by the dumping of photographic chemicals from the R.A.F. station at Benson in a pond in the parish of Roke, which nuisance has been the subject of correspondence between the Bullingdon Rural District Council and the Air Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR AIR (VISCOUNT STANSGATE)

The use of this water for the disposal of chemicals has been discontinued, and the pond, which was located in a quarry, is being filled in. I am sorry that earlier attempts to deal with this nuisance were unsuccessful.

House adjourned at ten minutes past five o'clock.
