§ Mr. Bartonasked the Minister of Works whether he is aware that building labour is being used in the rebuilding of a cinema in High Road, Wembley; and if he will take immediate steps to have this labour transferred to the essential work of housing.
§ Mr. TomlinsonRepresentations have been made to me from several quarters in support of the rebuilding of the cinema to which the Question refers, but I have not felt justified in licensing more work than is necessary to prevent serious deterioration of the building this winter. I am unable to accept my hon. Friend's suggestion that the work should be suspended.
