§ Mr. Collinsasked the Minister of War Transport if he will now report on the investigations which have been made into the proposal for a Wessex Ship Canal.
§ Mr. BarnesFrom time to time since 1922 suggestions have been made to my Department regarding the construction of a ship canal between the Bristol Channel and the English Channel. Neither the various suggestions put forward nor the proposal as a whole are regarded as practicable propositions, since the cost would be out of all proportion to any resulting advantages.
