§ Dr. Littleasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he will make arrangements whereby R.N.V.R. officers who desire to remain in the Service, will be permitted to do so for the purpose of making the Navy a career.
Mr. AlexanderSchemes have already been introduced to enable Reserve Officers to apply to transfer to permanent commissions, but until there is more precise information about the size and composition of the post-war Fleet, transfers must be few and confined to those branches where it can be assumed that post-war requirements will enable additional officers to be granted permanent commissions.
