§ Mr. StracheyDuring the preliminary operation of the air trooping plan from 14th August to 20th October, approximately 300 ex-prisoners of war and 5,770 members of the Services due for release or repatriation have been transported by air to this country from outside Europe. Approximately 50,000 men have been brought to this country from Italy, and I will communicate further with my hon. and gallant Friend as soon as I have obtained information showing the proportion of these who came to Italy by air from outside Europe.
