§ Mr. Callaghanasked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he will release Oakley House, Bromley Common, at an early date, to enable the Peckham Health Centre to carry on its valuable work.
Mr. AlexanderI regret that it is not at present possible for the Admiralty to give up Oakley House which is being used as a medical rehabilitation centre, fitted with a considerable amount of orthopaedic equipment for the treatment of approximately 100 patients. The extent to which rehabilitation facilities of this kind will be required has not yet been determined, but as soon as a decision has been reached I will communicate with my hon. and gallant Friend.
