§ Lieut.-Colonel Wheatleyasked the Minister of Food whether, in view of the continued sale of low fat content preparations designated ice cream, he will consider, prior to the commencement of the next summer season, some sort of control over the price and quality of ice cream.
§ Sir B. SmithI announced to the Press the introduction of a scheme for regulating the price of ice cream on 14th August last. This scheme has been devised to ensure that, generally, the present price of ice cream should not be more than about 50 per cent. above the pre-war level. As regards standards of quality, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for South Blackpool (Wing-Commander R. Robinson) on 10th October.
