If he refers to German prisoners of war employed in the docks area at Naples, I have no information as to the numbers involved, as all prisoners of war in the docks area are held in custody by the. United States. I understand, however, that steps have been taken by American General Officer Commanding Naples Area to reduce the number of Germans employed and I have every reason to believe that wherever possible in this area Italian labour will be used in place of German prisoners of war in future.
