§ Mr. Peter Freemanasked the Minister of War Transport whether it is his intention to introduce further legislation or take other effective action to secure the safety of the roads and to minimise the number of street accidents, particularly in regard to the speed through towns, efficiency of all motor vehicles, lay out of roads and further education of the public.
§ Mr. BarnesI have lately been giving a good deal of thought to the very serious road accident problem, and I hope shortly to be in a position to decide what action can immediately be taken to help reduce the toll of the roads.
