§ Flight-Lieutenant Beswickasked the Minister of Health how many tubercular sufferers are now awaiting admission into sanatoria; and how many beds it is estimated would become available if the required hospital staff could be found.
§ Mr. BevanThe number of patients awaiting admission to sanatoria is about 5,000. Above 1,600 existing tuberculosis beds are closed for lack of staff: and a sufficiency of additional accommodation could be provided without much difficulty if staff for it were available.
