§ Mr. LawsonI have been asked to reply. As I have informed the hon. Member by letter, the demolition in question was carried out by contractors employed by the local residents and not by the War Department. Applications for compensation should, therefore, be made to the contractors, who, it is understood, have accepted responsibility and are repairing the damage.
