§ Sir W. Smithersasked the Minister of Labour whether, in assessing war bonuses and war gratuities, particularly on demobilisation, and pensions, he will take into account the service rendered by men and women engaged in CD., especially if they were conscripted before they joined the Armed Forces of the Crown, such as firemen, bomb disposal, rescue squads and police.
§ Mr. IsaacsAll men and women who have served for six months or more since 3rd September, 1939, in a whole-time paid capacity in the Auxiliary Police or Auxiliary Fire Services or in the Civil Defence General Services qualify for a war gratuity in addition to any gratuity for which they may qualify by virtue of service in the Armed Forces.
