HC Deb 09 October 1945 vol 414 cc106-7W
Sir R. Glyn

asked the Minister of Works what accommodation is still being retained under the Defence of the Realm Regulations or Requisitioning Orders by various Government Departments in the district council areas of Abingdon, Wantage, Faringdon, Wallingford and Bradfield, in the county of Berkshire, and in the boroughs of Abingdon and Wallingford and the urban district of Wantage.

Mr. Tomlinson

The Government Departments concerned have informed me that they hold 349 properties on requisition in the district council areas, the boroughs and the urban district referred to. These properties include a number of barns, sheds and other small premises used as food depots and also 220 premises for housing the homeless or inadequately housed persons and accommodating war workers.
