HC Deb 09 October 1945 vol 414 cc89-90W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Minister of Supply and of Aircraft Production if he has considered the case, details of which have been submitted to him, of a graduate of London University, now a statistician in the Ministry of Supply, who, broken down with tuberculosis, has failed to obtain proper expert treatment from the Ministry and complains of ungenerous arrangements as regards his salary; and if he will hold an inquiry with a view to giving this man better treatment.

Mr. Leonard

An inquiry has been made into the case of the ex-employee of the Ministry of Supply referred to, and a report on the question of the salary payable during his sick absence has been sent to the hon. Member. The Ministry of Supply is not responsible for the provision of expert medical treatment for its employees suffering from tuberculosis, and no application for such treatment has been made to the Ministry of Supply by the ex-employee concerned.
