HC Deb 09 October 1945 vol 414 c62W
Colonel Erroll

asked the Secretary of State for War what special measures are being taken to prevent an outbreak of influenza or infantile paralysis amongst the German civilian population during the coming winter.

Mr. Lawson

The danger of an outbreak of epidemics, including influenza and infantile paralysis, among the German population this winter is fully realised by the authorities in the British Zone. They have accordingly taken such preparatory steps as are possible with the facilities at their disposal. These include the organisation of German hospitals, the mobilisation of German doctors and nurses and the accumulation of medical stores and ambulances.
