§ Major Beamishasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is satisfied with the present provision of instructors for the Army Cadet Force; and whether he will state the attitude of the Government to the Army Cadet Force including the Army Cadet Force Association, P.S.S.C.A. and the J.T.C., with special reference to their training, equipment and welfare.
§ Mr. LawsonProvision was recently made for the full-time or part-time employment of ex-Service men as administrative assistants or instructors in the Army Cadet Force. This scheme is still in its early stages, but it is expected to provide valuable help. The question of assistance by the Regular Army is also being considered. I have no reason to anticipate any fundamental change of policy in regard to the pre-service cadet organisations, and post-war planning is proceeding in the expectation that they will continue to be maintained, on a voluntary basis, now that the war is over.
