HC Deb 09 October 1945 vol 414 cc98-9W
Major Macpherson

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation whether, in view of the fact that the only civil air line linking Mauritius with the mainland of Africa direct at present in operation is French, he proposes to establish a British or Dominion civil air service to Mauritius in the near future, either by extending the present B.O.A.C. service, connecting Mombasa and Diego-Suarez, or by some other route.

Mr. Thomas

A Royal Air Force service is at present operating twice a month between Nairobi and Mauritius. The desirability of establishing a civil air ser- vice from East or South Africa to Mauritius at a later date will be borne in mind.
