Hyndasked the Minister of Works whether he will now break down the estimated costs of temporary houses as set out in Cmd. 6686, to show the difference between manufacturers' price and the total cost of an erected house; and what is the final cost of each type after the amount of the loan charges has been taken into consideration.
§ Mr. TomlinsonI would refer the hon. Member to my statement in the House on 26th November when I explained why it was not advisable to publish the detailed build-up of the estimates for temporary houses. The estimates in Cmd. 6686 were exclusive of land, roads and sewers which are the responsibility of local authorities and are estimated by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health to cost on the average about £90 a house although there will be considerable variations in different localities.
