§ Mr. Lipsonasked the Minister of Education if, in view of the large number of children involved in road accidents, she will appoint an officer in her Department to be responsible for giving guidance and direction to road-safety work in schools.
§ Miss WilkinsonAn officer of my Department is a member of the Interdepartmental Committee on Road Safety, whose Interim Report was recently published, and contained a number of recommendations in relation to schoolchildren. I am sending the hon. Member a copy of a Circular which I sent to local education authorities on this matter at the beginning of this month.
