§ Mr. McAdamasked the Minister of Health if he will consider introducing legislation providing local authorities with power to secure from owners of empty houses, shops, and warehouses, owner's rates, based on the assessed value of the houses, shops and warehouses when such may have been occupied.

§ Mr. BevanI will consider this suggestion with others, which have from time to time been made for altering the present system of levying and assessing local rates, but I can hold out no expectation of legislation in the near future on this or other aspects of the rating system.
