Mr. De la Bèreasked the Minister of War Transport whether, in connection with short term B Defence Permits, he will give an explanation of why five out of six of these permits have not been renewed to the White Lion Motorways, Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucester, having regard to the fact that two of this firm's partners are on active service and will require work to do after being demobilised.
§ Mr. BarnesFive short term "B" defence permits were granted to White Lion Motorways for temporary war time work, such as aerodrome construction. This has now ceased and the permits have not, therefore, been renewed. I am, however, looking into the possibility of employing this firm's tripper vehicles in another area.
