HC Deb 27 November 1945 vol 416 c1255W
Mr. A. E. Davies

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will amend the qualifications required of candidates for the War Department Constabulary to permit the enlistment of suitable ex-Service-men who did not attain the rank of war substantive sergeant in the Regular Army.

Mr. Lawson

Recruitment to the Regular War Department Constabulary is at present confined to men who have completed a long-service engagement in the Regular Army. As at present advised I see no good reason to modify this rule.
