§ Mr. Murrayasked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he is aware that there is a shortage of wagons in the counties of Northumberland and Durham; that producers of coke are being compelled to dump it on the ground; and what steps he is taking to cut out this wasteful method and save unnecessary labour.
§ Mr. ShinwellI know that there is a shortage of wagons on the North-East coast. It is necessary to give priority to the transport of coal but the quantity of coke which has been dumped on the ground is relatively small. Special steps are being taken to increase the number of wagons available for coal class traffic generally and additional wagons were recently specially allocated to this region.
