§ Mr. IsaacsThere are no formal provisions for the temporary release on compassionate grounds of coalmining ballotees. Each case is, however, considered on its merits and, if it appears that in similar circumstances a period of compassionate leave from the Forces would have been granted, it is generally possible for me to arrange, in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Fuel and Power, for a period of temporary release from employment in coalmining.
