§ Mr. LawsonRepatriation has already begun and should be completed from India and S.E.A.C. during the late summer of 1946. It is hoped that all those in the Middle East who have more than three years' overseas service will be returned to West Africa by August, 1946. The remainder in the Middle East will not be kept overseas for more than three years.
§ Mr. Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for War what is the programme of repatriation and demobilisation for coloured African troops serving in India and S.E.A.C; and by what date he expects the last of them will be returned to Africa.
§ Mr. LawsonRepatriation of the West African troops has already begun, and should be completed by the end of the summer of 1946. All East African troops should be repatriated by July, 1946. Demobilisation thereafter depends on the local programmes.
