HC Deb 26 November 1945 vol 416 c1044W
Mr. Keeling

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Burma whether a Burma relief fund is being opened on the lines of the Far Eastern relief fund to make grants to persons who have suffered as a result of the Japanese occupation.

Mr. A. Henderson

The Far Eastern Relief Fund which was set up in 1942 to assist persons in distress as the result of the occupation by the Japanese of Far Eastern territories generally including Burma, makes grants in respect of persons who have suffered as a result of the enemy's occupation of Burma. It is, therefore, not proposed to set up a separate fund.
