HC Deb 26 November 1945 vol 416 c1047W
Viscount Hinchingbrooke

asked the, Minister of Town and Country Planning whether he will make a statement regarding the choice of experts to advise the City of London on its plan.

Mr. Silkin

Yes, Sir. The Corporation of the City of London inform me that they desire to appoint Dr. Charles Holden and Professor W. G. Holford as their consultants for this work. These distinguished experts have been particularly concerned with problems of the reconstruction of central areas. As Professor Holford, who occupies a high post in my Ministry in a temporary capacity, also holds the Chair of Civic Design in Liverpool University, I have been in communication with the Vice-Chancellor who has agreed with me that Professor Holford may be "made available to act jointly with Dr. Holden in this most important matter.
