§ Mr. Goochasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the Norfolk County Council have approved in principle a number of schemes for extending rural water supplies in the county submitted by local sanitary authorities; and if he will give an early indication of the amount of the contribution he proposes to make towards the cost of Norfolk schemes approved by his Department.
§ Mr. BevanI am aware that a number of schemes are in course of preparation. Schemes have been submitted in outline to my Department by seven rural district councils, but in only two of the cases have I been definitely informed that the county council approve of the scheme in principle. I am about to issue a circular to local authorities inviting them-to make formal applications for grant under the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Act.
