§ Mr. Palmerasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he will approve a period of release for Stoker H. R. Carter, P/KX 135797, details of whose case are in the possession of his Department, on compassionate grounds.
Mr. DugdaleStoker Carter is on his way home from Hong Kong by air. On arrival, he will be entitled to a period of foreign service leave, on the expiration of which my right hon. Friend would be prepared to consider an application for compassionate release in the light of the circumstances then prevailing.
