§ Commander Maitlandasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is now in a position to state when wives of personnel now serving in Europe will be able to join their husbands.
§ Mr. LawsonThe living conditions in Germany make it impossible at present to allow families to proceed to that country. I hope that a number of families will be able to join their husbands in Austria and Italy before the end of the year. The present arrangements for sending families overseas provide only limited facilities, as indicated by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 9th October, in reply to a question by the hon. Member for Oxford (Mr. Hogg).
