§ Brigadier Lowasked the Minister of Education whether a man who was studying to be a teacher in 1940 and took his final examination early before joining the Forces in 1940 and failed at the examination because of having taken it too early, is now eligible for a grant to allow him to continue his training at the same college so as to qualify him to become a teacher.
§ Miss WilkinsonStudents who entered a training college in 1936 or later and were unable to avail themselves of the usual opportunities for re-examination by reason of national service or difficulties arising from the war, will be allowed a further opportunity to retrieve their failure on their return from war service.
2503WMy Department is prepared to allow these students to return to college as recognised students, in respect of whom grants will be paid under the Ministry's Regulations for the Training of Teachers, for a period of not more than a year, with a view to further study of the subjects in which they tailed to pass the Joint Board Examination.
