§ Sir J. Lucasasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if civilian internees who elect to remain in Singapore or Malaya to try and re-establish their businesses are entitled to free medical attention in the same way that they would have been had they been repatriated.
§ Mr. George HallThe responsibility for the welfare of civilian internees who have elected to remain in Malaya for their own private purposes rests with the British Military Administration. I have no doubt that any person in need of it will receive such medical attention as is available. I have no information whether such attention will be provided free of charge, but I am making inquiries.
