Mr. Scott-Elliotasked the Minister of Labour the number of disabled persons registered as unemployed at the date of the last count; and whether he will name a day for introducing a system of quotas and designated occupations under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act in order to facilitate the satisfactory resettlement of all disabled persons.
§ Mr. IsaacsThe number of unemployed persons registered as disabled under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act at 22nd October was 17, 526, but registration under the Act is by no means complete as yet. I hope, to be able to announce at an early date when the Quota Scheme will be introduced. The designation of certain occupations will follow the introduction of the Quota.
