§ Sir S. CrippsThe only limit on the, production of children's toys is that imposed by scarcity of raw materials and labour. Supplies to the home market, however, are limited by Order. The permitted volume of supplies is at present 75 per cent. of supplies in the standard period. While I fear there cannot be a full supply of toys this Christmas, I hope that there will be a considerable improvement in quality, since the manufacture of toys from certain materials which were previously prohibited is now allowed. With regard to the second part of the Question, if the hon. and gallant Member will send me particulars of the cases he has in mind, I will have them looked into.
