§ Viscount Hinchingbrookeasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps are being taken to increase the number of taxicabs in the Metropolitan area; and when an increase may be expected.
§ Mr. EdeI understand that arrangements have been made for the production of suitable chassis. Until such a chassis has been submitted to the Commissioner and approved no forecast as to the date of delivery of new vehiclesis possible. The number of cabs may be slightly increased as those which have been laid up during the war are brought into use.
