§ Captain Longhurstasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer on what scale is Income Tax deducted from the pay of prisoners of war; and how the practice of H.M. Government compares with that of Dominion Governments in this matter.
§ Sir J. AndersonThe service pay of prisoners of war is liable to United Kingdom Income Tax in the same way as the pay of any member of the Forces serving abroad. As regards the point raised in the second part of my hon. and gallant Friend's Question, I understand that in general the pay of prisoners of war is treated in the same way as the pay of members of the Dominion Forces serving outside the Dominion.
