§ Sir J. AndersonMy hon. Friend doubtless has in mind the recommendation by the National Expenditure Committee in their 14th Report of 1942–3. In their reply to this recommendation the Treasury stated that it was contemplated that there should be a review of the methods developed during the war as regards contracts; but, while this reply holds good, I do not feel that we have reached the stage when such an inquiry can conveniently be put into operation.
