§ Colonel Lyonsasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, with a view to accelerating day-to-day decisions and giving more responsibility to leading officials, he will now consider, in the case of a few selected Colonies, the replacement of the secretariat by a cabinet system of officials or nominated members, each personally responsible for his Department to the Governor.
