asked the Prime Minister whether, as the building of the Kiel Canal was a cause of the war, he will undertake that one of the peace conditions be the digging in of the canal and its return to agriculture.

The future of the Kiel Canal is a matter for future consultation between the United Nations, and I could not now state definitely whether my hon. and gallant Friend's suggestion will be considered amongst other possible solutions.
