An Order has just been made amending the Flour Confectionery (Control and Maximum Prices) Order so as to permit producers, on and after i9th March, to make additions to cakes after baking. I regret that I am not in a position at present to release additional ingredients; moreover, bakers are very short of labour. While these conditions continue no considerable change can be expected in the supply or character of cakes and pastries offered for sale.
