§ Colonel Carverasked the Minister of Agriculture whether sufficient is now known of the economic and scientific aspects of sugar production in Great Britain to enable him to give some indication of what is to be the sugar beet policy in the post-war period.
Mr. HudsonMy hon. and gallant Friend may rest assured that the economic and scientific aspects of sugar production in this country are kept under constant review. An assured market will be maintained for sugar beet up to and including the crop harvested in 1947. I am not able at present to make any statement about long-term policy.
