§ Mr. De Chairasked the Secretary of State for War, in view of the insulting behaviour of Italian prisoners of war towards the wives of men away serving in the Forces, particulars of which have been supplied to him, whether he will make arrangements for Swaffham to be placed out of bounds to Italian prisoners of war in future.
§ Sir J. GriggThis case has been investigated. No complaint has been made to the Camp Commandant regarding the insulting behaviour of Italian prisoners of war to enable disciplinary action to be taken against offenders. Arrangements are being made to improve the supervision of Italian prisoners of war in the area. If these do not prove effective I will certainly consider my hon. Friend's suggestion.
