THE MARQUESS OF READINGasked His Majesty's Government, what authority is responsible for the temporary care of Stateless persons formerly of German nationality found in concentration camps or elsewhere inside Germany, until such time as their permanent status can be determined, in view of the fact that, being Stateless, they are not the concern of any Allied Mission attached to S.H.A.E.F., and that, having been formerly German citizens, they are not regarded by U.N.R.R.A. as "displaced persons."
§ THE PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (LORD CROFT)Initial responsibility for the care of Stateless persons found in concentration camps or elsewhere in Germany rests with S.H.A.E.F., who has issued instructions as to the treatment to be administered to such persons. Stateless persons will be accorded similar assistance to that648WA accorded to United Nations displaced persons provided that their loyalty to the Allied cause has been established by competent military authorities. The German authorities under the supervision of Allied military authorities will be responsible for those whose loyalty to the Allied cause has not been established. His Majesty's Government are actively considering the question of future responsibility for such persons, to be assumed later by international bodies such as U.N.R.R.A. and the Inter-Governmental Committee on Refugees.
