§ Mr. Saltasked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that officers who were wounded in Normandy and lost their equipment are still waiting to have the cost of their equipment paid for; and will he take steps to have a more rapid settlement of such claims which are causing hardship.
§ Mr. PetherickI am aware that a number of claims for compensation for loss of kit in Normandy are still unsettled. Steps have already been taken to simplify the procedure, and arrangements have recently been made which will enable claims to be settled more rapidly.
